About John Skrabec
Being a creative soul at heart, John Skrabec, a Colorado native, started his career as a budding architect, earning two degrees from the University of Colorado at Boulder in environmental design and marketing. After years in the creative arts, John flexed his "entrepreneurial muscles" and in 1990 founded Cactus Marketing Communications, one of Denver's premier ad agencies. Along the way, John was elected President of Denver's Advertising Federation, President of the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and was named one of Denver's "40 Under 40" by the Denver Business Journal.
After over a decade of success in advertising and design, he applied his award-winning marketing knowledge and business experience to real estate. Following his love of historic properties, he began a career as a Realtor in the urban neighborhoods of Denver. Working with buyers and sellers since 2001, he earned sales recognition from the Denver Board of Realtor's Roundtable from 2005 to 2009. He founded Live Urban Real Estate in 2006, where he created and nurtured the Live Urban brand, and leads all of Live's marketing, advertising, technology and PR efforts.
On the journey, he's renovated five homes in Denver's city center, appeared on DIY Network's "Sweat Equity", and created real estate training courses on marketing, social media and branding.
Meanwhile, he's renovated five homes in Denver's up-and-coming West Highlands and Berkeley neighborhoods, appeared on DIY Network's "Sweat Equity", dabbles in real estate investment, experiments in the kitchen, and enjoys travel, gardening and cycling in the city he loves.

Why Real Estate... Aren't There Enough Agents On The Planet Already?
Once I started investing in real estate, I realized there was an opportunity in the market to offer exceptional real estate services. I'm a natural at helping others, so I thought it would be a great match. And I love architecture! That certainly helps.
